Publish Process

The process for publishing your website begins with setting up a web hosting service. These services are rather inexpensive, costing $25 per month or less, depending on the type of site needed, with a little extra for online commerce (due to the need for a secured server). Website Decor® can work with a host to handle your published website and will ensure your website is operating properly. Website Decor® can also host your website for an annual fee of $99.

The hosting service is separate from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) which controls your access to the internet as a user. Accessing your website from your hosting service requires an ISP connection--the same connection you would use to "surf" the web. Website Decor® recommends cable access due to the blazing speed offered that is hundreds of times faster than a normal phone line (and costs about the same after charges for a dedicated phone line) and typically much faster than other, more expensive technological alternatives available including DSL and ISDN.

Another step is domain name registration. This is handled through the web hosting service which will register your name as www.<yournamehere>.com with the appropriate agency. This service costs as little as $10 per year. Should you decide not to register a name for your business, you can elect to have Website Decor® host your site under our domain for a minimal hosting fee. Your site would be www.websitedecor.com/<yournamehere>/  or www.<domain>.websitedecor.com .

And finally, you will want to publish your site with search engines and other sites that may be appropriate for your business. Website Decor® will create the informational tags used by search engines to index your site and will help you promote your site. Do not subscribe to listing services that charge high fees for listings that the major search engines automatically perform with the web robots.

Website Decor® will also assist you with specialized publishing (trade organizations and associations) and can even provide services for banner development to be used as advertising at other sites. Often, this type of advertising is very inexpensive but can provide a means of reaching potential customers. Specialized promotion of your site will usually be performed with associations that are specific to your products and/or services. Website Decor® will work with you to identify the best means of promoting your site with these associations.
